Fillmore High School and Fillmore High Alumni Association present November 2022 Flash Forward Student of the Month, Natalie Garnica. Flash Forward is a monthly look at the accomplishments of students who have graduated from Fillmore High. Natalie is a Fillmore High Class of 2009 graduate and a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles Loyola Law School.

From campus, students can walk to the restaurants and shops that line Granville’s main street. Bikers may enjoy the 36-mile trail that connects Granville to the nearby Ohio cities of Newark, Johnstown and Alexandria.

Cornell College is a small, private liberal arts school in Mount Vernon, Iowa, that utilizes a block schedule. This special academic calendar, named One Course At A Time (OCAAT), consists of eight blocks of 18 days each. In a given block, students at Cornell College attend just one class from 9-11 a.m., break for lunch and then resume from 1-3 p.m., so they focus intensely on just one area of study for a shorter amount of time.

Admission Requirement:

1. High school students who will be in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade as of Fall 2022 are invited to apply

2. High school participants must commit to attending all 3 Saturdays. If you know that you will miss a session, please discuss this matter with our program staff.

3. High school participants must select two-course choices on the application. Once accepted into the program there will be no option for switching courses during the current term.

Selection:

● High school participants are selected based on:

1) written and demonstrated an interest in science,

2) date application is submitted, and

3) past attendance in the program.

● High school participants from local and regional public and private high schools are prioritized for selection, but all high school students may apply.

● Courses are filled at 16 students. Classes may have materials that will be provided for the enrolled students.
