This summer’s “makeover” of the office is complete. Mr. Wilber and the office staff are very happy with their new carpet, paint and furniture!

High School Principal John Wilbur was hard at work this summer when we asked him to stand for this photo in his office. Mr. Wilber and everyone at the High School is eagerly awaiting their furniture to arrive as they prepare for the new school year.
The Leather Helmet
One of the highest priorities at Fillmore High has been to protect “The Helmet” during this summer’s construction projects. Fillmore won the helmet back from Santa Paula as a result of what can only be called an epic 31-24 come-from-behind win during the last rivalry game. Go Flashes!
Trench Progress
The trench being dug for new electrical lines and other upgrades to the High School is progressing right on schedule.
Conference Table Refinished
This year’s summer projects included a “make-over” of the office’s conference table. Wow! What an amazing transformation! It looks like new.
Science Building
This Science Building is making great progress thanks to Fillmore Unified staff and student workers. Each classroom and the hallway is getting a thorough cleaning!
Office Progress
The High School Office hasn’t looked this good in years! The new paint and carpet are in and people are starting to move back in.
Cafeteria Progress
The furniture is getting put back into place after an exhaustive summer cleaning of the entire Cafeteria. Great work by Fillmore Unified staff and this summer’s student workers!
Moving The Metal Shop
In preparation for construction of the new Career Tech Education building, one of this year’s summer project’s is to move the existing equipment into storage.
Cleaning Classrooms
Student workers are working well with Fillmore Unified staff this summer to clean classrooms and get them ready for the new school year start this fall.
Cafeteria Floor
Fillmore Unified staff and student workers did a great job removing all the cafeteria furniture and cleaning the floor to s shiny polish.
Gym Roofing
The entire High School Gym is getting a fresh roof. Above workers are roofing just one of the lower elevation sections of the roof.
Student Workers
Student workers are having a great positive impact on this summer’s projects. The work experience and mentoring by FUSD staff has been a great success.
Science Building Work
The Science building is getting ready to be cleaned and boards have gone up in classrooms and bathrooms until the new windows are installed.
Preparing For New Lockers
The old lockers have been completely removed and the walls and floor are being prepared to receive the new blue lockers.
Landscaping
The Kubota tractor was used to dump and spread new dirt around the center quad area to help level the ground. The final leveling touched were done by hand.
Administration Building Progress
The “freshinging up” of the administration Building (the office) is making great progress. Old carpet is being pulled and new paint is starting to go up. District staff was careful to preserve the classic FHS logo on the wall.
New Science Building Windows
The new Science Building window are arriving and will begin to be installed soon.
New Gym Windows
The new gym windows are being installed. The new windows are now able to open and allow for hot air to escape and keep the building cool on hot days.
New Gym Doors
New gym doors and hardware have arrived and are being installed throughout the building.
